65- The Biggest Differences In How I Marketed When I Sold High Ticket & Now That I Sell Low Ticket

1

So much of the marketing taught in the online space isn’t really meant for high ticket service providers, especially not those who have:

  • corporate jobs

  • children

  • disabilities

  • time-consuming hobbies or obligations in their community

  • medical conditions (e.g. pregnancy, recent miscarriage, health issues)

  • responsibilities as a caregiver

I’ve been vocal about this and even recently posted a newsletter article about Diet Marketing Culture is still thriving in the online space and it’s giving 2020 Girlboss/Boss Babe vibes, but now it’s more granola and organic.

It’s disguised as low lift, but then when you peel back its mask you reveal it’s drenched in:

  • 3-5x a day social media posts TO THE FUCKING FEED

  • daily stories posts (to show them how normal you are as a human)

  • Threads posts (to show them you’re also normal there as a human, too)

  • daily emails (sometimes more than 1 a day because you can never send to many emails 🤪)

  • doing live video

  • building a community (e.g. Facebook, Circle, Slack, Whatsapp, Discord)

  • hosting a live event

  • lead magnets (that also have 10-20 emails in the sequence)

  • 2-3 month launches

  • upsells, tripwires, sales pages, thank you pages

And look, all that stuff works. Yes, there may be a $200K-$300K launch at the end of it—go for it boo if that’s what you need and you have the stamina for that—but I figured if I shared that you don’t have to do all of that, you might not feel obligated to try and burn yourself out in the process.

Hence this podcast episode.

In it I share my experience as a high ticket service provider who successfully had a multi 6-figure coaching program, 1:1 coaching/mentorship (combined they made the 6-figure mark) and services where I did the work.

But what I’m sharing isn’t how I:

  • followed this one strategy and you should follow it too (join my program!)

  • made money in my sleep from funnels and high tech (book my service)

  • launched every time

  • paid for ads (I never did this one actually so this isn’t even a part of the episode)

  • went viral

  • grew my following for years first before I got to this point (I hate those stories when they try to tell you, “don’t compare your day 1 to my day 1000,” like why are you even sharing your stupid story then?!!!!!)

No, what I’m actually sharing in this podcast episode is:

  • multiple examples of different ways I marketed to sell my different high ticket offers with their price points

  • the years this was happening

  • how much marketing content and effort I put into hitting the goal

  • platforms used

  • money made

  • how I felt doing the marketing

I also talked through how vastly different it was when I shifted to low ticket.

In the episode I also mentioned how I would share a few examples of the content that worked because it wasn’t fake easy, or pretend “I only marketed for like 2 weeks” I legit did.

I thought it would be helpful for you to see what is possible while having this episode to listen back to when you hear that voice in your head telling you to post more, do the most, you’re not doing enough, when really you just have no momentum because you’re trying to post at a pace like someone with an energy level and personality type you’re not.

Examples from my IG I mentioned in the episode I thought would be helpful:

  1. In 2022 when I mentioned booking out my VIP Days and then my mentorship program for Q1 without even having a chance to really start launching because of the 2021 momentum, I started “launching” on January 17th with a lead magnet post about a lead magnet related to launching (which is also what my service was for) I’d had from the previous year, then on the 19th my caption says I have 1 spot left for March 🤣. I also only had 2 mentorship spots left out of 6

    1. I kept posting the rest of my planned content until March 1 which kept the momentum up and booked the rest of my mentorship spots and VIP Days up to mid May when I stopped offering the service as I mentioned in the episode

  2. These are the types of posts that really sold the VIP days or got me DMs

    1. client experience videos like this and this

    2. simple reels like this

    3. and long form content like this

  3. In the part of the episode where I switched to low ticket and started with those workshops, I shared I promoted for 2 weeks, here are those posts

    1. Posts for the storytelling workshop

      1. post 1- July 13

      2. post 2- July 13

      3. post 3- July 14

      4. post 4- July 15

    2. Posts for the lead magnet workshop

      1. post 1- July 21

      2. post 2- July 21

      3. post 3- July 21
