It's Annual Planning Season | The Scoop Vol. 53
Since I just started this Substack, I wanted to share the past few Scoops I emailed so you can see what they're normally like.
Can you believe it's December 2nd?
This is the perfect month to slow down, reflect on the year, and plan for 2025.
I'm actually hosting our annual planning session (World Tour Planning Session because we're 90's R&B themed now) in Revolutionary Society on Tuesday, December 3.
We spend 2 hours determining when our most important marketing and sales seasons will be so they can plan accordingly and prepare for them with my support and resources.
In the Flexible Marketing Section, I'll share how we're kicking off the first 90-days of 2025 so they'll already have the momentum to hit the goals they establish tomorrow. Take notes so you can do it, too.
By the way, have you done your annual planning yet?
December is my favorite month of the year, because:
It's my birthday month (December 31st)
Christmas is my favorite holiday
I enjoy annual planning
Christmas movies, Christmas music, and holiday lights
I've already been watching all the Christmas movies, so far I've seen:
✔️ Haul Out the Holly (I know this is from 2022, but I hadn’t seen it before)
✔️ Hot Frosty (corny as hell 😂)
✔️ Meet Me Next Christmas
✔️ Christmas Island
✔️ Our Little Secret
✔️ Christmas Notting Hill
✔️ Christmas of Yes
✔️ A Christmas Stray
With the exception of Hot Frosty, all the others were really cute and most of them made me tear up at some point.
🎥 If you have any Christmas movie recommendations, please reply to this email and share them!
I also have devastating news to share that I've been taking the time to grieve privately before sharing publicly.
Our beloved cat, Cheeto, had to be put down suddenly from a severe genetic issue.
I noticed he wasn't really eating and was losing a lot of weight, but being that he was so young, I never would have thought this would be the outcome.
I cannot begin to talk about it and have just been adjusting to not having him with me all day like he has been for the past 2 years 🥺
Hug your pets tight and love on them every day.
With this being annual planning season, I wanted to share what my Revolutionary Society members are doing in the first 90-days to make sure everything they planned for 2025 gets done.
Because how many annual planning sessions have you had over the years with huge goals of:
submitting for at least 3 stage speaking engagements per quarter
writing that book by the summer
launching that podcast or Youtube channel by March
launching a group coaching program in Q2
opening a digital shop before Black Friday
launching in January/February
But then those launches get pushed back a month or quarter. Speaker submissions go from 3 a quarter to 1 IF you remember to get it in before the deadline. The book gets pushed back to next year...
Most annual planning goals involve marketing and they get pushed back because you struggle with marketing execution due to your schedule, unexpected things coming up, your energy, and/or your capacity.
So for the first 90-days of 2025, the members of Revolutionary Society are following my A.D.A.P.T. framework to make sure they become excellent executors for their annual goals, no matter what comes up.
Here are the things we are focusing on in those 90-days:
In their first 30-days the goal will be to establish their marketing process for daily lead generation and consistent sales.
This gives them a foundation of what they can typically keep up with and will help them hit their monthly revenue goals.
In their 60-day window, the goal will be to add volume to the leads they're attracting and sales conversions without adding time to the work they're doing on a weekly basis.
This will include driving more traffic to their website from around the internet outside of social media (so they don't depend on it for all their leads), and automating lead nurturing and sales through email and strategic website updates.
And as we finish out their 90-day window, the goal will be to review what's working well and not and make adjustments to the automations, to sales pages, messaging, emails, and content to speed up and improve sales conversions and improve their quality of leads.
Basically, we slowly build up their execution muscles in the first 30-days, and then spend the last 60 implementing marketing and sales strategies that keep the leads and sales coming in even when they need to slow down and give them the ability to speed up when they need sales fast.
I know what you're thinking right now...
Because it is! Lol
Can you imagine being able to generate daily leads to your email list, website, and DMs with a consistent marketing system using searchable long-form content, evergreen email funnels, and short form social media content to increase inquiries & boost sales in 90-days?!
And knowing that after those 90-days you'll have:
Pressure-free launches because you'll already have "can't wait to buy" leads waiting for spots to open
Enough sales coming in throughout the month that you're already at your "good" goal before the launch starts, and you can just focus on hitting your "better" and "best" numbers
But also knowing that YOU CHOSE how, where, and when you would market right in the beginning, instead of someone telling you to do something that ultimately doesn't work for you.
Want to complete the first step to attracting daily leads following our process?
When you register for the Lead Overflow Challenge, I help you establish your process to send an overflow of leads to your inbox, website, and DMS every day in 5 days.
My best advice for content is to always repurpose content into different formats because:
It saves you time because you're coming up with less content ideas
You'll give a great piece of content more opportunities to convert into sales
Here's an example of me doing this recently ⤵️
On October 12, I posted this reel about how my challenge was different from typical challenges with the hook: Challenges Usually Set You Up to Fail
2 people commented the keyword to join the Lead Overflow Challenge
On October 14, I posted this carousel about the same topic with the hook: Most Marketing Challenges are Just as Bad as Diet Culture
Another 2 people commented the keyword to join the Lead Overflow Challenge.
Same topic, same point, just different content formats.
Did I say some of the same things in the video as I did in the carousel? I sure did!
If you're doing your annual planning soon, I wanted to make it a little easier and more realistic for you to plan your marketing calendar.
If you're launching anything:
Platforms e.g. a new podcast, Youtube channel, blog
A new offer e.g. a VIP day, a group program, a course
A new lead magnet
Then you'll need to also plan enough time to both attract leads AND sell.
Most people focus so much on selling, that they don't spend enough time generating leads or don't generate enough leads to hit their goals.
Which is why they typically don't hit their goals or feel like they hear crickets during their launch.
So here are some marketing timeline best practices:
Prelaunch (2-4 weeks)- this is where you work on generating leads, growing your list, reactivating your existing subscribers and followers, getting people to download your lead magnet
Launch (2-4 weeks)- this is where you move those leads to the sale by answering their questions through your content, have sales calls, review applications, DM conversations, etc.
Post Launch (3 days)- this is where you gather data on why people didn't convert this time around, get people on the waitlist for the next launch, and possibly downsell people to other offers while you have the launch momentum
Can you launch quicker than the above?
Of course, but ask yourself, are those launches at that pace working for you both in revenue/conversions AND energetically?
Or do you always feel rushed, stressed, and pressed to put out 100 pieces of content in 2 weeks to hit your goals?
If it's not working how you're doing it already, perhaps you're not giving yourself enough time for these launches.
Cheers to booked out services 🥂,
P.S. The Lead Overflow Challenge back! It runs from February 17-21.
The challenge will help you complete your first step to attracting daily leads in 5-days.
You'll create the marketing mix that will send an overflow of leads to your inbox, website, and DMS every day without posting content everyday, In content formats you prefer & platforms you'll stick with, even when you're not launching.
